History reveals that in year 430 B.C. the Boeotian Greeks sculpted and painted wooden ducks and used them in the capture of wild ducks to be cooked and served for royalty at the Athenian banquets. Decoys, however, date as far back as 1300 B.C. as they were discovered in Egyptian tombs.
